The end of March brings the end of the winter swim

The end of March brings the end of the winter swim season! Today was our last swim in March.

(Still floofing cold obv)

Our sixth year swimming at least twice a month throughout the winter for @polarbearchallenges

Some years we have done a lot more, it all depends on what we have on really. But we ticked off our swims throughout the season from November to April.

And for our final swim for this year’s challenge we headed to beautiful Swanpool.

It was raining and cold, we weren’t super keen honestly, but the water was crystal clear and we managed to swim a couple of laps across the bay.

A gorgeous swim, and the egg bap reward from @swanpoolbeachcafe_ was 💯😋

Well done us - now we look forward to gorgeous spring/summer swims.

Bring it on!

This is so cute. I visited Watchet this weekend,

This is so cute.

I visited Watchet this weekend, on the North Somerset coast. And on the harbour there is a special memorial piece in memory of ‘Derek the Goose.’

Derek was a well-loved goose who made Watchet harbour home for over ten years, getting fed by the boat owners.

Derek turned out to be a female in fact, when she laid eggs. In 2021 she died and locals and tourists from around the world raised money to commission this memorial in her memory.

Being a Sister of the Sea is not about how often you swim or surf or dive or even how often you see the sea!

It’s just an appreciation for the ocean’s wild beauty, its healing powers and for friendship.
