Trevone Sea Pool

Three images of Tinker Bunny's also known as Trevone Sea Pool, looking quiet and calm with the wild sea behind.

Also known as Tinker Bunny’s Pool, Trevone sea pool is one of the larger and deeper tidal pools on the north Cornwall coast, thanks to the reinforcing sea wall built in the 1920s. Tinker Bunny is believed to be a local tin man named John Bonney – a colourful character who lived as a recluse for a time in the late 1800s in a hut above the pool. He was later committed to the The Union Workhouse where he was listed as a ‘lunatic’.

The pool is revealed only at low tide, and is accessed over rocks from the coast path between Trevone Bay and Harlyn. It’s the perfect place to swim when the sea is a bit wild – but don’t expect to be the only ones there especially in summer.
