The Old Lifeboat Slip, Newquay.

The slip was built in 1895 and is thought to be the steepest in Britain. It was so steep that following a hair-raising launch and rescue, the lifeboat men had to come ashore on Towan beach, a mile away, using horses to pull the huge wooden boat back through the town to the station.
This spot is definitely a very careful walk down but a beautiful swim on a calm clear day at any tide (avoid if there is a wave) and great for snorkelling too.
